A uniquely personal cabaret act about growing up backstage in Manhattan as the “Daughter Of” a successful songwriter. Susannah Blinkoff’s musical memoir features songs written by her mother, Carol Hall (“The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas,” “Free to Be You and Me”) as well as her own original pop-rock tunes (heard on MTV’s “My Super Sweet 16” and “Teen Mom 2” and in films “My Super Ex-Girlfriend” and “Summer Eleven”). With an up-close view of “Whorehouse” as it developed from workshop to long-running Broadway show to major Hollywood movie starring Dolly Parton and Burt Reynolds, Susannah experienced firsthand the privileges and pitfalls of being the daughter of an accomplished artist. Her one-woman musical bursts showbiz bubbles and celebrates her creative heritage. Susannah is backed by a three-piece band whose members have toured with Rufus Wainwright and Ben Harper, among others. The show is directed by veteran TV/film writer-producer Stan Zimmerman (“The Golden Girls,” “Roseanne,” “Gilmore Girls”).
